Woodcut and Woodblock Printing

An introduction to the printmaking technique of woodcut

... with individual guidance in translating custom project ideas into a woodcut print. Process and proper use of tools will be demonstrated, including transferring an image to a woodblock and preparing wood for printing. Using an old press, woodblocks will be printed on paper with the option of fabric. Feel free to bring sketches and ideas that utilize one or more colors. Traditional and experimental approaches will be explored. Or in whichever way. Exquisite is the idea.

Possible ideas for printing include:
Postcards, Christmas Cards, Letterhead, Posters, Tote bags, T-Shirts, Pillowcases, Kitchen Towels in black/white or in color. Important: Only textiles without buttons or zippers can be used. Drying time lasts two days. All textiles will be printed with black, water-proof oil-based ink

Workshop Session Information:
Each workshop session begins at 2:00PM and ends at 8:00PM.
Participants can attend one day or multiple sessions (3 sessions are recommended). Workshops are limited to 4 participants.
